Iran grabs first Paralympics gold
Iranian weightlifter Hamzeh Mohammadi grabbed the gold medal in the 60-kg category in Beijing’s Paralympics with an effort of 202.5 kg.
Mohammadi’s medal is Iran’s first gold in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
Athletes from Russia and Egypt ranked second and third, respectively.
Mohammadi underwent doping test after winning the gold and he was awarded 30 million rials by the Iranian Paralympic Weightlifting Committee for his victory in the competition.
