The Hong Kong Institute of Education is one of the premier educational establishments in Hong Kong.

Offering courses for students wishing to become teachers, as well as in-service training, HKIE was founded in 1994 from an amalgamation of the previous teacher training colleges in Hong Kong. The history of teacher education in Hong Kong goes back to the 1850s and the founding of St. Paul’s College in the-then British colony.

HKIE has over 400 teaching staff and around 7,000 students. HKIE’s main campus is situated in Tai Po with other smaller campuses being the Town Centre at Tai Kok Tsui and the Sports Centre at Pak Shek Kok.

An amazing acrobatic/dance show

Acrobats – Dance-Kung Fu-Acrobatic Drama: Journey to the West

Anyone wanting to see an amazingly energetic show of acrobatics/dance should not miss this incredible performance based on The Monkey King story.

Highlights of the show included a mind boggling scene of strength and flexibility by a male and female gymnast clad in body hugging white costumes as they performed acrobatic dance using incredible feats of strength and balance. This was the human body at its best! The final scene based in ‘Hell’ was another highlight of the show where the stage filled with incredibly fit acrobats bouncing all over the stage on trampolines performing truly inspirational acts as they spun in all directions while flying through hoops.

Complimenting this incredibly diverse acrobatic/dance show was the staging of the where no expense has been spared on costumes, props and backdrops.
