United States defeat Spain to win gold in men’s basketball

The United States ‘redeem team’ have certainly redeemed themselves at the Beijing Olympics, not losing a single game and defeating Spain 118-107 in the final to win the gold medal.
The bronze medal was won by Argentina, who defeated Lithuania 87-75.

Angel di Maria of Argentina scored the only goal against Nigeria, earning them the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics. Argentina also won the gold medal at the 2004 Athens games.

Brazil beat Belgium yesterday to win the bronze medal.

Argentina wins bronze in women’s hockey

Argentina have won the bronze medal in the women’s hockey, beating Germany 3-1.
Claudia Burkart (11th minute), Carla Rebecchi (23rd) and Noel Barrionuevo (62nd) scored the goals for Argentina. Anke Kuehn scored Germany’s only goal.

Spanish sailor’s Fernando Echavarri and Anton Paz have won the gold medal in the tornado (Multihull) sailing event at the Beijing Olympics.
Darren Bundock and Glenn Ashby of Australia won the silver medal and Santiago Lange and Carlos Espinola of Argentina won the bronze medal.
