Barbora Spotakova wins the gold in women’s javelin throw

Barbora Spotakova of Czech Republic has won gold in the final of the women’s javelin at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games with a throw of 71.42 meters.
Maria Abakumova from Russia won the silver with a throw of 70.78 and Germany’s Christina Obergfoll won the bronze.

Du Li of China wins the gold medal in women’s 50m rifle three positions

Du Li from China has won the gold medal in the women’s 50m rifle three positions setting a new Olympic record of 690.3 points.
Katerina Emmons of the Czech Republic won the silver medal with 687.7 points, and Eglis Yaima Cruz of Cuba with 687.6 points won the bronze medal.
