Shanaze Reade is hoping to win gold for Great Britain in the first women’s BMX event at an Olympic games.
Reade arrived in Beijing on Sunday and has been practicing at a replica of the Beijing Olympic course built in Manchester.
Qualifying races start tomorrow and the finals will be on Thursday.
Paul Goodison of Great Britain has won the gold medal in the laser, men’s one person dinghy.
Vasilij Zbogar of Slovenia won the silver medal and Diego Romero of Italy won the bronze medal.
