China topped the Beijing 2008 Paralympics Medal Table by some distance winning 211 medals including a whopping 89 golds.

Great Britain was second, following on from the country’s good medal performance at the Beijing Olympics and the USA was third.

Iranian wheelchair basketball team withdraws from Paralympics

The Iranian men’s wheelchair basketball team has withdrawn from the Beijing Paralympics competition on the first day of quarterfinal competition.

Iran grabs first Paralympics gold

Iranian weightlifter Hamzeh Mohammadi grabbed the gold medal in the 60-kg category in Beijing’s Paralympics with an effort of 202.5 kg.
