Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh win gold in women’s beach volleyball

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh of the United States have won the gold medal in the women’s beach volleyball at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
They beat Tian Jia and Wang Jie of China in straight sets, 21-18, 21-18.
China also won the bronze medal in an earlier match.

Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor beat Brazil to make it through to the final against China’s Wang Jie and Tian Jia.
“We’ll just have to pretend the crowd is cheering for us,” May-Treanor said.
