Brazil have won its first gold medal in women’s volleyball, defeating the United States 25-15, 18-25, 25-13, 25-21.
China won the bronze medal.

The United States have defeated Australia 92-65 to win its fourth consecutive gold medal in women’s basketball. It is the third Olympics the U.S. played Australia in the final.
Russia defeated China 94-81 to win the bronze medal.

Norway has won the gold medal in the women’s handball defeating Russia 34-27.
Korea defeated Hungary 33-28 to win the bronze medal.

Argentina wins bronze in women’s hockey
Argentina have won the bronze medal in the women’s hockey, beating Germany 3-1.
Claudia Burkart (11th minute), Carla Rebecchi (23rd) and Noel Barrionuevo (62nd) scored the goals for Argentina. Anke Kuehn scored Germany’s only goal.

The United States has once again beaten Brazil in an Olympic Games Gold Medal match. With both sides being scoreless after 90 minutes the match went into extra time but it only took the United States’ Carli Lloyd 6 minutes to put the Americans into the winning position.

Netherlands defeat US in women’s water polo
The Netherlands have defeated the United States 9-8 in the women’s water polo to win the gold medal.
The scores were level at 8-8 when the Netherlands scored with just 26 seconds to go.
Australia defeated Hungary to win the bronze medal.

Australia wins bronze medal in women’s water polo
Australia has won the bronze medal in women’s water polo defeating Hungary 12-11 after going into double extra time and a penalty shoot-out.
The United States are currently playing the Netherlands for the gold and silver medal.

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh win gold in women’s beach volleyball
Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh of the United States have won the gold medal in the women’s beach volleyball at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
They beat Tian Jia and Wang Jie of China in straight sets, 21-18, 21-18.
China also won the bronze medal in an earlier match.

China wins bronze medal in women’s beach volleyball
China’s Xue and Zhang Xi had a fairly easy win over Brazil’s Talita and Renata from Brazil to win the bronze medal in the women’s beach volleyball.
China’s Tian Jia/Wang also have a chance to win gold in the same event when they play Walsh/May-Treanor from the United States.

Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor make it to beach volleyball final
Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor beat Brazil to make it through to the final against China’s Wang Jie and Tian Jia.
“We’ll just have to pretend the crowd is cheering for us,” May-Treanor said.
